ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE

The road under the railway bridge between the junction of Hewell Road / Bittell Road and Fiery Hill Road will be CLOSED on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd August to allow for remedial road works to be carried out.  The mini roundabout at the junction of Hewell Road with Bittell Road is to be correctly installed and some  Network Rail signage has to be attached to the bridge.  The usual diversion route will be in place.

Severn Trent Water investigations in Hewell Road

Severn Trent Water have issued a note (see below) to Hewell Road premises advising that in order to improve the water supply in the area they need to carry out investigation works.

There will be a few small excavations, trial holes on the footpath near to Poplar Drive and Orchard Croft, and also in the road at Orchard Croft, outside Rosebank, near the Post Office and by Millennium Park.  The trial holes in the road will require traffic light controls.  The work is expected to take one week starting 16th July.

Casual Vacancy

A casual vacancy has arisen on the Parish Council which provides an opportunity for ten local government electors (ie must be included on the Barnt Green Parish Council’s electoral register) to request an election.  The request for an election must be delivered to the Returning Officer at Bromsgrove District Council, Parkside, Market Street, Bromsgrove B61 8DA by Friday 20th July 2018.

The request must include the name, address (as shown on the electoral register) and electoral number of each of the ten requesters, the reason for the request and the date of the notice of vacancy (03/07/2018).  The Returning Officer will provide a template if required.

Annual Fun Run

Well done and thank you to everyone who took part in the Barnt Green Fun Run on Sunday 24th June.  Despite the heat and the lure of England winning a football game, over 100 participants ran, jogged or walked the 3 laps (5k) around the village.  We’ll be doing it again next year – date yet to be arranged.  Excellent work from the Barnt Green Chuggers and Chain Gang team who ran the event with support from the sponsor Provest and the Parish Council.
